Heikkinen retained by EKS for 2017
Audi-backed FIA World Rallycross Championship team EKS has re-signed Finnish driver Toomas Heikkinen to partner World Champion Mattias Ekstrom in the squad this year. Audi Sport confirmed last month that it will increase its support for the EKS squad in 2017, following its championship success in both the drivers and teams championships last year. Two-time World RX event winner Heikkinen finished second in the series in 2014, and moved to EKS to join Ekstrom for 2016 to drive one of two Audi S1 Supercars.
