Mikkelsen signs long term contract with Volkswagen
Andreas Mikkelsen has signed a multiple-year contract extension with Volkswagen Motorsport in the World Rally Championship. The Norwegian, who turns 26-years-old today, currently sits third in the drivers' championship having secured four podium finishes in the opening six rounds. Mikkelsen will continue with co-driver Ola Floene in the Volkswagen Polo R machine and says he's delighted to secure the contract as he continues to push for his maiden WRC victory. “It is a great feeling to know that the team is happy with me and my performance, and that they want to continue working with me,” Mikkelsen said. “I am thankful for this opportunity to continue to develop in this great team.
