Solberg disqualified from Q2 after clash with Ekstrom in Latvia

Petter Solberg has been disqualified from Q2 at the Latvian round of the WRX for contact with title-rival Mattias Ekstrom, and as a result is last of the 22 competitors still running in the Latvian event ahead of day two. Solberg was ‘black flagged’ for his final lap move on Ekstrom at the circuit’s first hairpin, which takes the rallycross track from tarmac to loose section. The decision was made by the race director, after both Solberg and Ekstrom had been requested to produce their onboard camera footage.
